Typical board exam type EKGs for IM and cardiology boards. Style of interpretation occasionally differs from what would be considered safe for boards - e.g., diagnosing LVH and LAFB, LBBB and LVH simultaneously. Best feature = references to seminal journal articles discussing criteria, prognostic implications, etc. Quick read, good yield. Will use it for lecture prep.

Independent learning tool

This is an excellent book, even for those without background knowledge of the topic. It is thorough, and easy to understand. I was introduced to the topic in my college class, and have learned a great deal more, in detail in this book. This is an excellent selection for students, professionals, and people with a natural interest in the subject.

Brain Research Classic Reference

Going through this book was like reading a 350 page article in Scientific American. We find in "Left Brain, Right Brain" the same tone and the same level of science writing. And like for a magazine article, it is all about a single topic: brain lateralization. Even though the book is written in a very clear language it could still pose a challenge for the lay reader. For the jargon is a bit technical at times. But this kind of vocabulary should please the undergraduate student looking for an introduction to contemporary research in cognitive neuroscience. The book has been revised five times since its first publication in 1981. The last edition dates back to 1998, so it obviously does not discuss the latest findings. But most of the material remains valid today. What makes this book especially valuable is that it covers the important period when most of the modern tools of investigation were first introduced. The technology has since been refined, and so has the research. But the basic structure of the brain had already been established in this pioneering phase when scientists started to use a variety of scanning devices to study the brain. Because this book was for a long time the only one to offer for the non specialist a complete overview of the research that was conducted in this exhilarating period it has become a neuroscience classic reference. I would recommend it to anyone interested in the history of the scientific investigation of the human brain.

This is an excellent book for teachers or parents to help children who are impulsive, hyperactive, or inattentive. The Scriptbook opens like an easel, with identical script on each side. The adult sits on one side, and the child sits on the opposite. It is a "mini" play. Everyday scenarios are presented, a crisis is recounted, and then a script leads the child to take on the role of the child in the scene. The child discovers what could be done to remedy the situation. This is an effective book to help children learn alternative ways of acting positively.

Almost took a star off for making us wait for Part Two!

Great story, Great characters who were well developed to the point that I cared about them and had a hard time stopping each time I resumed reading... For that reason, I actually took longer to finish this book than most that I read, because I wouldn't even bother if I didn't feel like I'd have at least an uninterrupted hour. And in my life, uninterrupted hours are hard to come by!

So yeah, very good pacing, action, description, logic, enough twists to keep you thinking you've figured out what's coming next, followed by the shock of being wrong, and thinking "THIS TIME" you've got it figured out, only to once again, feel your head spinning as the clues reveal just how far off you were.

Can't wait for the next installment!!

Impressive first-time author

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! The author does a great job with making sure the reader can understand what is happening in the story. Time travel can be a confusing topic to read about, but I never felt lost while reading this book. The scenes and characters were easily created in my mind with the help of the author's descriptive writing. I love the characters, and the ending will shock you. I can't wait to read part two!

Just finished and loved the book! It was a pleasure to read. The plot was interesting and flowed smoothly through-out the story. The author built the characters well enough that I cared for each one for different reasons, and worried when they made stupid mistakes. The book had a little of everything. Even humor, which I love. There is quite a bit of imagination, and wow what a twist. Can't wait for the next book.

Interesting story, poor prose

This is an interesting book from a historical perspective, but the prose is quite stilted and, unfortunately, pretty boring. It seems that Wallace wanted so much to turn this into a Native American Jesus story (Deganawidah is born of a virgin mother, and he spreads the "Good News" of peace, for example) that he's adopted the stilted and outdated language of the Bible, leading to a pretty tedious read. An example:

"Now it shall come to pass in that Longhouse," said Deganawidah, "that the women shall possess the titles of chiefship. They shall name the chiefs. That is because thou, my Mother, wert the first to accept the Good News of Peace and Power. Henceforth thou shalt be called Jigonhsasee, New Face, for thy countenance evinces the New Mind, and thou shalt be known as the Mother of Nations."

And it goes on that way. . . it's not at all a fun or interesting read because of Wallace's choice of language, and I definitely would recommend it only to someone who's willing to wade through weak prose to get a fairly interesting story. I made it about halfway before I had to give up. The two stars are for the story; for the prose, I'd give minus one star.

Enlightening and Inspiring

I would definitely recommend this creative non-fiction book to anybody that is interested in the history of the Haudenosaunee people or the history of the northeastern part of what is now the United States. I also think that this text is highly educational and should/could be taught in secondary education classrooms as part of the history/origins of the U.S. government. In my experience, aristocratic white men are given all the credit for how the U.S. government works and I think all students should at least have the basic knowledge of the true nature of the U.S. as a whole. While the language may seem archaic to some, I think it adds character to the book and draws the reader into the text more. This book is enlightening, inspiring, and not too difficult to read and digest. I believe I am now a better person for having read it.

Fantastic Resource!

As I was browsing through Amazon I found this book. I bought my copy last week and have pretty much been glued to it since! The lessons are really easy to follow and more importantly, put into practice!

I set up an Etsy shop a couple of years ago. After reading the chapter on shop names, I decided to make a total change. And the chapter on Photography really gave me some great pointers. I didn't realize just how important those pictures are. By the time I finished I had a totally redesigned shop.

The best part for me (and the reason why I bought the book to begin with) was the tips about promotion. It's always the part I hated the most, but this makes it so easy. I wish I knew two years ago when I started my shop what I know now. In fact, I'm going to try some of these tips with some of my other projects. This book is a great tool for anyone who wants to sell anything online.

This book was given to me as a gift and with a suggestion I could sell my wife's custom made greeting cards on Etsy. I've been thinking of opening an Etsy Shop for some time now, but felt slightly overwhelmed with the idea.

How To Sell Your Crafts Online makes the process of setting up an Etsy Shop nice and simple. The lessons are all short and easy to follow. Not short as in skipping vital info, but short as in not blabbering on about things you don't need to know. After you've read each chapter there's a number of action-steps which is a nice touch.

As well as setting up your Etsy shop, this book also shows you how to find your way through the online jungle. I now have a firm handle on how to use Facebook, Twitter and a variety of websites I'd never heard of before.

One of the best things about this guide is it never feels like too much work and each step is fun. The book is really well designed with bright and vivid illustrations and plenty of screen-shots so you know exactly what to do each step of the way.
So if you've been on the fence about selling your crafts online, or need to improve a slow online store then this guide is going to save you a lot of headaches.

Not only did it address how to use Etsy, but it also gave lengthy instructions to other sites and methods such as Facebook and blogging. Photography and movie making for YouTube is also covered.
